Beijing Film Academy (BFA; 北京电影学院) is a specialized, state-run film and television institution in Beijing, known for training talent across directing, acting, cinematography, animation, sound, and related fields. International descriptions often highlight BFA as China’s only dedicated film academy and one of Asia’s largest film schools, with strong influence through its alumni and industry links.
Historically, BFA traces its roots to early film-education units around 1950 and went through several renamings before adopting the current name in 1956.
