Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) is a national key university in Beijing directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It was founded in 1958 as the Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology to train high-level chemical engineers for the country's advanced science and industry. BUCT is a Project 211 university, a «985 Project Innovation Platform» university and a Double First-Class university, with Chemical Engineering and Technology selected as a national Double First-Class discipline.
BUCT is rooted in science and engineering and also teaches business, economics, law, literature, philosophy, education and medical science. Chemistry, materials science and engineering are in the top 1‰ of the ESI rankings worldwide, and ten disciplines are in the global top 1%. The university has 18 colleges and schools, more than 2,700 staff, including 8 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 5 international academicians, and around 400 international degree students.

Application fee: 500 RMB, paid by bank transfer in RMB after the preliminary review, non-refundable.
Insurance: 800 RMB per year; residence permit: 400 RMB per year.
Language requirements: Chinese-taught programs — HSK 4 with at least 180 points (bachelor applicants also pass the CSCA professional Chinese test); English-taught programs — IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 85 (bachelor and master), IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90 (PhD).
