CSCA is not required for UNM: the university assesses school results and international qualifications. Typical direct-entry benchmarks are A Level BCC–AAB, IB Diploma 24–32 points, Advanced Placement 4, 3, 3 in relevant subjects, or a Foundation or diploma with a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0. Engineering and most science programmes ask for A Level BBC or IB 26, pharmacy for BBB / IB 30 (BPharm) and AAB / IB 32 (MPharm). Applicants with a national school certificate and no international exams usually enter through the one-year Foundation programme (from IB 24 / A Level DDD), which leads to the bachelor's degree without further exams once pathway requirements are met.
UNM's campus in Semenyih, Selangor, lies amid tropical greenery and foothills about 60 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. Its 48 hectares of landscaped grounds form a self-contained, guarded village designed to echo the University Park Campus in Nottingham, UK.
The Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen Sports Complex is free for students and hosts 19 sports clubs: a gym, badminton hall, multi-purpose sports hall, squash and tennis courts, a 25 m swimming pool, a FIFA 1-star 3G pitch and fields for football, cricket, rugby and frisbee.
Free shuttle buses run to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), MRT and KTM Kajang, MRT Sungai Jernih, Semenyih town and IOI City Mall in Putrajaya. Student life includes more than 90 clubs and societies.
