University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) is a national key research university in Haidian District, Beijing, founded in 1952 as the Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel Technology by merging the related departments of five leading universities. It took its present name in 1988. USTB is a Project 211 and Double First-Class university with an engineering core and balanced programs in science, management, humanities, economics and law; it is especially strong in metallurgy, materials science, mining, safety engineering and the history of science and technology.
USTB was the first Chinese university to establish a formal partnership with a foreign university, in 1979. International students study on the main campus at No. 30 Xueyuan Road and can choose Chinese- or English-taught bachelor, master and doctoral programs, a Chinese language program and a one-year pre-degree program.

International students study at the USTB main campus at No. 30 Xueyuan Road, Haidian District, Beijing, in the capital's university district.
International students can live in the on-campus international student dormitories at the main Beijing campus.
